The Journal of Commerce Online reports it will take at least two weeks before the backlog of containers at the Port of Miami is reduced to normal levels following the court-ordered end to a two-week strike by independent truckers. The article adds that on July 15, 2004, the federal judge that granted the temporary restraining order ending the protest will hear arguments by the Port of Miami and others asking for a permanent injunction. 4. Textile and Apparel Exporters' Manual to U.S. AD Investigations

The U.S. Association of Importers of Textiles and Apparel (USA-ITA) has announced the availability for purchase of a manual for textile and apparel exporters to the U.S. whose exports may be targeted in antidumping (AD) complaints filed with U.S. authorities by competing U.S. producers. 5. FTC Proposed Consent Agreement for "Love Bug" Mosquito Repellent Device

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has issued notice of a proposed consent agreement with respondents Prince Lionheart, Inc., etc. regarding practices related to the advertising, offering for sale, sale and distribution of an electronic mosquito repellent device called the "Love Bug." The representations at issue concern claims regarding the devices' repellant properties relative to babies, West Nile virus, etc. Written comments are due by July 21, 2004. 6. CPSC Provisional Acceptance of $500,000 Settlement with Krups N.A.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a notice containing its provisionally-accepted Settlement Agreement with GROUPE SEB USA f/k/a Krups North America, Inc., containing a civil penalty of $500,000. CPSC staff had alleged that certain Krups electric drip coffeemakers were defective, as loose electrical components could overheat and ignite the adjacent plastic filer carriage. Interested persons may ask the CPSC to not accept this settlement agreement, or otherwise comment, by July 15, 2004. 7. BIS Sensors and Instrumentation Technical Advisory Committee Meeting
