2. President Issues Sanctions Act Determination & Certification for Libya
The President has issued a determination and certification with respect to Libya under Section 8(b) of the Iran and Libya Sanctions Act, as amended. The President has determined and certified that Libya has fulfilled the requirements of United Nations Security Council Resolutions 731, 748, and 883. 3. President Issues Military Coup Waiver With Respect to Pakistan
The President has determined with respect to Pakistan to waive any provision of the Foreign Operations, Export Financing and Related Programs Appropriations Act of 2004 (Public Law 108-106) that prohibits direct assistance to the government of any country whose duly elected head of government was deposed by decree or military coup. 4. Federal Register Publication of EO 13338 Regarding Sanctions on Syria
On May 11, 2004, President Bush signed Executive Order (E.O.) 13338 which imposes export and other sanctions against Syria effective May 12, 2004. 5. Identified Discrepancies in Government Notices
For 04051410 in the 05/14/04 ITT, government sources comment that the government's notice: stated May 13, 2004 in several places where the date should have been May 19, 2004; and didn't list all of the messages that will change to fatal errors in its summary list of messages that will continue as fatal errors or be changed to fatal errors in Phase 3. Other discrepancies may exist.
